NHS MEMBER
NHS Membership in the local chapter is an honor bestowed upon a student. Selection for membership is by a Faculty Council and is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities.
COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS
Community service hours are a vital component of your membership in the National Honor Society, and we encourage you to engage in meaningful service to contribute to your community. Activities such as volunteering at a food bank, a homeless pet shelter, or tutoring at the library for nonprofit purposes are all examples of eligible community service activities.
To clarify what counts for community service hours, please note that any act of service is considered acceptable as long as it does not include any of the following: (for more details and information for each category, please refer to our Member's Handbook here)

NHS Officers are not authorized to collect any forms. Put all forms in Ms. McGee's box in her classroom. Please make sure when turning in forms, have all forms attached together and filled out in detail.

No late forms or submissions will be accepted.
Do not wait until the last minute to complete your service hours. Officers will not be asked to come up with last-minute opportunities for you to fulfill service hour requirements.

Please pay your club dues online on TouchBase. Our officers will accept the club dues once all member applications are submitted and reviewed. Club dues must be paid by October 27th, 2023. Club dues will be used by the NCHS Honor Society Club to help pay for activities and events.
